I'm not sure hey, just remember that the 7.1 is virtual not real, also the Sirus has fantastic noise canceling also on it's mic.

G35s are power. Love mine. Would highly recommend them. I would wait for stock if need be.

using g35s for a while and always recommend them to gamers, my next upgrade is these babys!!

true 7.1 headies, they are going to sound awesome!!

Surprised you haven't looked at a higher end headset? If you're serious about gaming my advice would be don't waste your money on headsets marketed at gamers. Rather look at the Asus Xonar Xense bundle with rebranded Xonar Essence STX and Sennheiser PC350, will blow these gimmicky gaming headphones out the water. ;) No matter how many individual speakers they have, lol. :D

no voice cancellation mic :( , i never really bought g35s for sound, but they decent and loud enough, but mic most important bit for me, i am gamer i don't want to be the noob, that hear the whole house though the mic :P

got me the ROG board with xfi audio chip which is tad better then realtek junk, which i will use with new headset , when i get one.

PC350 has a noise cancelling mic according to the specs, or do they use a different noise cancelling mic tech?

And they can be had with a proper amplified sound card for R2,300, meaning you won't have to worry about onboard ever again.

You just cannot compare these to "junk" from Razer and Logitech. :(

hmm thats not sense my friend used, he said was super expensive and sounded very good, but had no mic :p

those looks very nice indeed, might just be a option...

need find pic of cable where it connects to sound card, as tend to break cable here, if fall over the cable etc, happens, needs to take the strain , need find a shop that sells them hmmm

hell no takealot sells them, 2.8k , cant be worth the money just for that, i will stick with gimmick stuff until i get a better job :P

Xense is a bundle of Xonar Xense sound card (rebranded Xonar Essence) + Xense-branded Sennheiser PC-350 headset.

Your friend might have tried the Sennheiser HD5xx range, which don't have a mic?

Quality Sennies use very thick cable, and their designs are modular so you can replace things like ear cushions, cables and head cushions yourself (not 100% sure that the PC-350's allow cable changing, but I'm sure they would...). And the jack is 6.3mm, not 3.5mm. Essence/Xense sound card uses 6.3mm jacks... Output being amplified in order to power the PC-350's, which are 150Ohm compared to the G35's ±38Ohm... ;)

Just Google it, everything will make Sense once you've tried them... :D

damn it now sounds to exspensive lol

would just want something you can plug into the board , as my board have xfi sound :(

Those razer headphones will be around 1.5-1.8k with the true 7.1. The xense is 2.3k and it's epic. The closed ear design a little warm but i knew that :D, no more sore ears and the sound is awesome for gaming. Didn't notice much difference with music but for games they sound way better.

When you look at how much Essence STX + PC-350 cost separately, you're looking at about R3 - R3.5k. So to get them essentially R700 - R1,300 cheaper in a bundle is exceptional value.

Considering how much you've spent in other areas of your PC, sound is so often the most overlooked aspect...

Your onboard limits you to driving ±40Ohm headphones, also misses many other features for gaming sound quality a decent sound card like Xense/Essence gives you.

If you're serious about gaming, there is no question about it. Two recent converts are IRG and killadoob, maybe they'll share their experiences, too...

My g35's leather layer on the ear muffs started to peal off after about 2years.

I know its a long time to have a headset, but just feels wrong to want to replace it just because of the leather layer on the earmuffs
