Looking for Serial to USB converter driver.

If you get the FDTI and Prolific drivers you should have a good chance of one of them working. Still think it's best to check the Hardware ID as then you'll know exactly what driver you need.

Another possibility is the ARK3116, which is sometimes used in dodgy clones of cell-phone sync cables. No drivers for Windows or Mac that I have found, only Linux.

Plug it into a Linux VM, and see what dmesg tells you :-)

Prolific PL2303, you can see it in the screenshot.

Get the right drivers, and you should be good to go.
