Looking for some help

Hi

I have a dell laptop, I had uninstalled some old software and am unsure of what triggered this or how to stop it. The laptop starts up as normal and works fine, however when I now try to install or uninstall, I get a popup that says, wait for another program to finish uninstalling. I've restarted and still get the same error, any ideas on what i can to to stop it? Thanks.

**Use the MS Fixit tool to remove the software you want to get rid off.

Sounds like the Windows Installer service is corrupted

Hey guys..

Thanks for the advice Yuu, gave it a try... for some reason the system restore has only the current day saved to restore from. i tried the MS Fixit tool, that's a handy tool, but also no luck.

You're right Sonic2K, but instead of disabling the installer, I've chosen to wipe everything and start again.
