Yup, Ive heard this before. CrazyIt varies, mine last 9 years when I was doing at least 120kms a day.
Car Lead Acids needs at least 45min to 1 hour driving to fully recharge from starting the engine.
Ooh, salty today. If it is a lie, please point out how long does a car needs to run before the battery is fully recharged?Did the, in your words, stealership, tell you that?
There's a very happy medium between a dealer and a backyard mechanic. I dunno why people always swing to the extremes. An accredited RMI service place is just fine.Slightly better than a backyard mechanic, and then you hear, I replaced x,y and z and stull have the same issue stories.
Well, if I can leave my car for two weeks at a time and then drive it less than half an hour and then leave it for two weeks again, I'm the problem?Ooh, salty today. If it is a lie, please point out how long does a car needs to run before the battery is fully recharged?
But still takes car to dealer. Ok. I get better "research" from a standard myBB certified expert.@pinball wizard just to add, did my own research years ago and read a few articles. That is my understanding.
So to explain my 2 years miminum battery lifespan, if you basically never fully recharge your battery i.e. do multiple short trips a day. Each time you start your car you drawing from the battery but never fully recharging your battery, hence my minimum two life span statement. If you know better, please explain, I am open to learn. If not, you just being full of kak.Well, if I can leave my car for two weeks at a time and then drive it less than half an hour and then leave it for two weeks again, I'm the problem?
BTW, I'm not salty. I'm a small (or big) **** everyday.
You have a parasitic drain or a faulty alternator. Notice how this article (aimed at selling batteries) mentions how far you must drive. Hint, it doesn't.So to explain my 2 years miminum battery lifespan, if you basically never fully recharge your battery i.e. do multiple short trips a day. Why not? My wife wife xtrail is 2005 model and my Honda is a 2009 model. But still takes car to dealer. Ok. I get better "research" from a standard myBB certified expert.
Then why does your car go to the dealer?I.e. shocks fixed at Supaquick, brakes I did myself. Radiator- at a radiator specialist. Cv boots- my local dunlop dealer referred me to a place in Bellville that specialises in cv's joints.
Well my statement ties up to my experiences. My wife xtrail battery I replaced in 2020. Mine was some time before that. I will have to check when exactly. Like I said miminum lifespan. You have a parasitic drain or a faulty alternator. Notice how this article (aimed at selling batteries) mentions how far you must drive. Hint, it doesn't.
Like I said, if you're getting less than 5 years, you have a faulty alternator or a parasitic drain. I would even hazard 7 years in our mild climate here in SA.Well my statement ties up to my experiences.
To get its service and the list of what is wrong, I would work through the list and confirm if it is an issue i.e. the radiator, just before we took it in, we noticed the car was leaking coolant, dealership confirmed it was the radiator. That was in 2020. No issue since. Then why does your car go to the dealer
Maybe the CX-3 is better than your Fiesta, but the Venue seems like a step backwards. I'll never understand why people buy these small "SUVs", in almost all cases they offer no benefit over an equivalent hatchback.Just need the next car to be automatic with cruise control and newer than 2019. So far the Mazda Cx3 and Hyundai Venue have piqued my interest. Any other suggestions?

You two need to get inside the back of a Brazzers van and sort this out.Like I said, if you're getting less than 5 years, you have a faulty alternator or a parasitic drain. I would even hazard 7 years in our mild climate here in SA.
2023-2005 = 18 years, I replaced the battery twice. So third battey since new. 8 years original battery, 7 years 2nd battery, current battery is 3 years.Like I said, if you're getting less than 5 years, you have a faulty alternator or a parasitic drain. So why you bring up a 2 year thing?2023-2005 = 18 years, I replaced the battery twice. So third battey since new. 8 years original battery, 7 years 2nd battery, current battery is 3 years.
