The Retina display is fantastic, I'm very eager to see what the air refresh ends up being. If they pack in a retina and nvidia chip as the rumors are claiming and match the weight of the new MacBook it's going to be an amazing piece of tech.

Yep. Waiting on that as well. Prefer the form factor of the Air to the Pro and if they can get a Retina display in there, well...

But it's exactly what you accuse people of when they're stating their love for Apple products.

Both are great machines, but as you say the big thing is the retina. I think at this point it's pretty much a given that the new air will go retina, the big question is which Intel chip they go with and how well the nvidia chip does vs the Iris chip, it has the potential to give even a rMBP a run for its money gaming wise.

They very well might, the new MacBook is lighter than the air after all but a lot of users find 12" too small. Will be interesting if they do produce an air refresh as people are speculating or if they will go back to just having the MacBook and MacBook Pro.

The Air and the Macbook are just too similar when it comes to niches. 11", 12", 13" just seems un-Apple'ish, esp if they all become retina.

That's a good point actually, the only catch then is that they won't have a $899 offering anymore as they did with the air. Both the MB and rMBP have a RRP of $1299.

With a 12" rMB and a 13" rMBP you really have to wonder why they would have a 13" rMBA. You present a good argument for a 11" which is something they may see worth bumping to retina. That would give them a 11" rMBA, 12" rMB, 13" rMBP. . .

Long term is it really worth them having three ranges (MBA, MB, MBP)?
 
Bought me my first Macbook air. Could do everything I wanted to do so far.

I just have one small thing I want to know. You do I open a link in a new tab. I currently do a two finger click hold then click the open in new tab option. But there must be a quicker way?

Hold cmd while clicking.

You can also set the Secondary Click, the one that gives you contextual menus, in System Prefs, Trackpad

Too vested in mobility to seriously consider one of them above a MacBook but that machine is THE business.

Personally I don't think it's bad value for money. That thing has server grade hardware. Try building a server with that hardware and see what it will cost.

Besides, like above, just look at it :love:
