Looking to buy my first MacBook

Congrats on a wise decision... just bear in mind... Once you go Mac, you never go back!

Thank goodness we have a Mac section. If not, there would be a barrage of kids who've never owned a Mac let alone being able to afford one, telling you why you're wrong.

Hahaha, thanks.

Confirmed my order today with FNB.

Their prices as per their online catalog changed though, although not by much; an R80 increase.

Per month? R2,000 over 24 months. Eish.

But yes, not much, and the benefit of monthly payment is great.

13" 256GB?

As if the creation of a Mac section would magically fend off trolls?

Ironically you seem to be the only taking an indirect stab.
What was the point of the post at all? The arrogance is striking, almost forced as if you need to tell people you can afford one which probably means you live with Mom and Dad but good on you for having a Macbook.

Just keep in mind it doesn't come with DVD writer/player

I opted to get a gaming laptop over a macbook because of this and a few other things, but I haven't even opened my blueray/DVD/CD writer yet. I am thinking that Apple made the right call with that. No-one I know buys games and programs in a physical store anymore.

I looked on the steam catalogue the other day and all the games I am currently playing works on a Mac. Might consider the MBP next time round as Steam is supporting more and more games.

I love this freaking MacBook. wow. Now I just need some sort of protection for it, ie a sleeve or something. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I bought an Incase cover for mine - a little pricy for the 15" but worth it I think.

Incase make EXCELLENT PRODUCTS. They saved my iPhone from a fall that would have certainly smashed the glass... the case took a knock, but the phone is immaculate :)

All of my sleeves and cases were for my 13" models and since the 15" was such a tight fit in my camera bag anyway I decided to bite the bullet and grab one of these https://www.incase.com/shop/macbook...l-case-for-macbook-pro-15-retina/tropic-blue/ but in black. The dimpled texture makes it easier to drag it out of my bag.

Not sure if keenly priced...

Not sure if that's the latest Air. Might be the '14 one. New they're around R14 500,00... You'd be in for around R17 500,00 over 24 months (but the dongle and data might offset that a bit). All depends on how you were looking to pay for the machine.
Also, look around for deals on the 13" rMBP

Are there any currently? I've only seen for the non retina MBP.

Not sure. That was TM, maybe check VC and MTN as well. I have the Air and I love it. The Retina display is something 'tho.
