Looking to get into photography

Kalvaer, here is a shot I took at f/2.8 at 200mm
With shallow depth of field you can tell the viewer what to look at.

Thats an awesome photo.

But that is the effect you wanted right? Blurry backround and all. What if you wanted the backround in though? If you dont have the DOV you cant do anything about it. At least if it was there.. you could blur the backround in PS later.


Like with this one.. I wish had a great DOV.. but cant do much due to the camera I used

I couldn't on that one, Its underwater POS camera :) That wasn't one of the best photos I took that day, But used it to show what I meant about how greater DOV could of helped. Still learning a lot about taking underwater, and I burn through O2 when taking photo's because I always end up fighting with the current to try get in the best spot possible

I guess it all depends on what you want to take. With underwater though I'll also be restricted the the lenses I can use based on the underwater housing.
 
Turns out that sacamera has a special on their 450D. It includes the kit lens and a 2GB SD card for R8499 .
Pretty decent price. I will however, upgrade to a 8GB Extreme III SD card and I will need to get me a decent bag. Was looking at this one .

LowePro bags are really nice. The only thing I don't like about the Slingshot bags is the hang off one shoulder. After some time it gets heavy. Ok, my rig is probably way heavier than yours, so I went for the Fastpack 250 rather - needed to keep my notebook handy too.

I love my Crumpler too :)
