I'm looking to switch. Was impressed when the phone was answered within 2 minutes and some of my questions answered withing another 2 mins. With Afrihost I've been waiting a minimum of 20mins lately...

I'd like to know the experiences anyone else has had with Axxess good and bad.

Also with their static IP offering the marketing media state R29 per IP per month making it seem like you can have multiple IPs per account (a block of IPs if you will) is this true? If not whats my next option? Id like to have at least 2-4 IPs for the different services id like to test

EDIT: would also like to switch my line across to Axxess. Provided I'm not without a line during the proccess. Whats Axxess DSL line support like?

You do know that Axxess is owned by Afrihost right?

Yeup. same network etc etc. However Afrihost only offers fixed IPs on their bussiness uncapped and its via a tunnel so specific routers only. Axxess seems to give me a 10ms drop in ping aswell. So I'm guessing they are doing something a little differently.

@theaxxesslady about to do that!

I have the 300 gig capped account with uncapped 12pm-6am and its is simply brilliant, never had a better Internet experience.
Their uncapped product for what I use the Internet for was average.

When it comes to line management LEAVE YOUR LINE WITH TELKOM!!!!! (too many threads say this and they right)
The only benefit you get is a saving of like R20. It becomes more problematic then R20p/m is worth if you ever want to change ISP or get your line fixed.

hmmm I'm not looking forward to the downtime from switching it back to Telkom again.. but i guess its probably going to happen anyway.

Yes, it will. So leave it at Telkom for the next time you switch ISPs... painless..

At the same time I've been with AH for over 6 years now. My line has been with them all this time and I've been relatively happy. My only reason for switching is the Static IPs for testing I want to do. (PBX software I want to test requires static IPs.) I absolutely hate the telkom call center. continuous adverts and no way of knowing how long you'll be on the line. something about hearing you are now 20th in line is more calming than waiting 5mins on a phone hearing the same music, adverts and no indication of knowing when they answer....
