Loot.co.za Trustworthy?

It's supposed to ship out tomorrow but still only says 'Stock on Order'. Think I'm going to cancel the order and buy it digitally for R100 more. There's only so long a person can wait.

Ordered some cables from Loot on Thursday afternoon (1 June) and received them this morning via Fedex. I will be using Loot a lot more in the future as they have some really good specials and very reasonable shipping charges.

Disappointing.

I read this thread. Read the poor hellopeter reviews. I knew the risk and yet still decided to try them. I regret it.

It's now almost a month later and many emails will all kinds of excuses and I don't have the product I ordered and paid for.

All I can do now is to warn others and don't use them again. I'm sure my order will arrive eventually...

I've ordered books from them and never had a problem. What did you order ?

Multiple items including computer parts. The only catch is they do have a longer delivery window than Takealot.

I've had 2 major issues with them

2 years ago I ordered a dual band router from their daily mailing list. I received it on time and upon opening it discovered that it was actually a used router and it even had the return slip, that somebody had returned it to a Dion Wired. I immediately notified them and their policy is always to collect the item and inspect it before they will do anything. In the 2 weeks that they had the received the router and finally agreed that it was in fact a used item, they could not replace it since they no longer had stock of it and refused to give me a similar item even though it was less than R100 more than what I paid.

Earlier this year, after Takealot increased their free delivery for purchases of R450 or more and Loot was still offering free delivery on orders from R250, we need a kettle for our office since ours broke so I gave Loot another chance and ordered a Melaware kettle from them for R265. The kettle never worked from day one and I requested a replacement from Loot, who then collected the kettle. Loot refused to refund me or exchange the kettle until they sent it to the supplier to confirm that it is not working. After a month of fighting with them, they finally agreed to refund me.

Before buying the router I did buy a few things from them with no issues, but if you need to exchange or replace an item, expect to wait forever.

I bought and paid for a R12000 plus Acer notebook more than a month ago at loot.co.za. They delivered in three days on 17 November 2017. Unfortunately the notebook had a dead battery. I logged a return and the notebook was picked up 5 days later. The problem is that I'm still waiting for a refund or a replacement. I phone about 3 times a week to find out about any progress. They always promise to take action but their answers are often vague and I see no progress. Today is the 20th, so about a month since the received the faulty notebook back. Any advice?

We placed an order on the 22/12/10, today is 09/01/20 and we have yet to receive our order which was due to be dispatched on 03/01/20 , we did phone your call centre and after holding for 6+ minutes our call was answered we gave your call centre our tracking number and they informed us the order is yet to be dispatched and we must wait 48 hours for feedback that's an additional 2 days.. I'm not sure how this can be considered acceptable very disappointed doubt we will be using loot again. It's now 16/01/20 and we still have no indication of ETA nor any resolution
Hello all,

Anyone bought from Loot.co.za before? Any troubles I should know of?
They got a Dell monitor I'm looking for at the most inexpensive price so far.

Thank you.

My ETA? Or my response to the thread? This thread came up 2nd in the results for "loot reviews" thus the reply to ensure to ensure those considering using thier site are aware of what sort of service they deem acceptable

The use of the word "your" makes it sound like you think this forum is some kind of support channel for Loot, which it most certainly isn't.

Out of interest what item was it? Was it in stock at the time of purchase?
