Losing bandwidth

Now you are asking me Lol, the password and username are on the netgear router and the iburst modem is connected to the netgear internet port. Not sure if this is the info that you are looking for. The router is my gateway and every dick, tom and harry goes out through netgear to the internet, my DC supplies DHCP. Wireless is turned off on the router and excuse my pun that router gives k@k logs it keeps logs for 6 sessions then overwrite if anyone know of any router that can connect iburst and give better logs pls raise your hand.

The lock I am talking about would be done by your ISP & would not be something you can change.

Do you know anyone else with an IBURST modem? If so take your login details there & add it to their router/USB modem. If it works then it's not locked to your unit.

Otherwise call IBURST & ask them if it is locked to your modem.

If it's not locked ask for an immediate password change coz then it might mean someone else it using your login details on their modem.

He said he has another iburst modem at home so what he will do is test it using the office's userid and password tonight and we will take it from there. If it works then we will need to request device password lock as well as password change. Thanks for your help mate, i will update.

Mikrotik logging to NTOP server?

Here is my setup, DC runinng WSUS and Symantec endpoint manager meaning my workstations will get updates from my DC period. I use a Netgear router and wireless is turned off. My client phones me in the morning saying he has lost 7gb at around 8 at night and he said he phoned the guys at Iburst and they confirmed that they saw the 7GB go down, how is that possible that i loose so much in a short space of time.

Hi sibusisom,

Its weird that I found your thread because I have the exact same problem with 6GB being used up one day when the modem was even connected for more than an hour. My case happened this week though on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Were you able to find the cause of your high data usage?

I am still investigating on my side.

Many Thanks
Nick

I'm seeing similar increases in usage over a similar period of time, although only when my son is home and his PC is on (pretty much the same thing). I've been away, so haven't figured it out yet. I'm interested to hear what you find.
I downloaded the freeware application NetLimiter 2 Monitor, it keeps track of bandwidth used by application. I figured out Heroes of Newerth is a bandwidth hog.
