As most may know a service for a new car will be something like every 12months or 15000km, whichever comes first.
I, for some reason, didn't pay attention to the first 12months and took my car in for it's 15000km service. Since I had missed the 12month service by several months, the manufacturer voided my warranty.

Has anyone else had this happen, and is there a way to somehow get the manufacturer to reinstate the warranty?

This is correct, they normally only give 30 day lea way, maybe tell them due to covid you could not take your car in?

That might have worked IF it had been related to the lockdown. But I doubt I can convince them I missed a service by 10 months due to the lockdown.

You are pretty much SOL basically.

They won't budge.

You summed it up yourself.
The lesson here, if you don't do a lot of kms, make a note of the dates on your calendar when services are due.

Unfortunately it is in black and white in the T&C, so there is nothing you can do.

You can only hope and pray that you don't need to claim anything on warranty.

Out of curiousity, how much years warranty did your vehicle have?

The only way now you can have warranty is if you pay for it. Like others have indicated, there's no way a dealership can reinstate it. They usually decline legitimate claims anyway, now you offered them a legitimate way out.

It was a 5 year warranty. So lost 3 years. I'll just hope this make and model stands the test of time.

Strangely enough 90% of cars will last just passed their warranties :).

My car lasted 8 years past its warranty
So not in the 90% than? I think from now on all statements from me should be read in sarcasm mode. If it's Lupus just think sarcasm, unless it's not.

Ok I'll do so
