Low cost telecoms

Low cost Telcom in under serviced areas is a never ending story and perhaps with the
weight of some entrepreneurs who are not in a hurry to regain their cash it might perhaps
work out in some places and others not, sustainable and affordable needs to be proven
in their business model but just voip might not create the revenues, i would ather look at
a pc based infrastructure which allows several Telecom related features.
Low cost Loan is probably the most important issue as hardware targeting low - mid end
consumers is in the making by amongst others intel with a new CPU named Atomic (not sure) and others such as VIA, ARM, AMD working on low cost hardware as well.
