LTE in Bloemfontein?

Was just in the Grey College University area here in Bloemfontein - and my Samsung S4 LTE, showed me a 4G signal ...

This a test or a real permanent installation ... ?

Last year when I went back, they already had LTE, so it's most likely here to stay.
I'm with MTN though.

From initial mapping, coverage area is only a few blocks, seems to be centered around Mimosa Mall ...

Seems to be very limited area coverage between Mimosa Mall and Grey College ...

Must drive some more ...

It will be better, of course. Not many users, it has to be better. So there is no reason at all.

It should, but so far the footprint is small, suggesting a microcell. Which in turn suggests testing ... , and from there the wheels start falling off, and a few potholes later you end up with reality, which is seldom what it should be ...

Only noticed it as I got an SMS while in the area.

Well, was just in Langenhoven Park and the area next to the Kimberley - Dealesville road also has LTE in Bloemfontein. Nice ...

Hmm ... , see there is also LTE coverage in Fichardt Park by the P&P Hypermarket ...
