Hi all,

Wonder if there is any channel I can contact with regards to signal in my area being down once every 2 weeks or so for days at a time? Miraculously just reappearing.

Normally, I have really decent signal. Huawei B315 router with Pyonting OMNI external. 3 bars on router front, and 4 inside web UI. Stable for days at a time, sometimes weeks. Pings in the low 10's.

However, on the odd occasion, like this weekend signal disappears Friday night. Completely. Red light on router. I have router set to Auto for band, and External for antenna(or internal for testing). Nothing changes by setting to 1800, 2300, 2g or 3g.

If I take router in car since its got that battery pack on it, I get up the road to a higher elevation and it finds signal and works perfectly. Normally it works perfectly at my house.

So, on phoning Telkom numerous times, they consistently don't understand me being able to use my brain to test it that its fine. They insist I take the device in for a simswap. I've done that once now before just to humor them. Device works perfectly in the shop. Swapped the sim, and still the same behavior persists on the odd occasion.
They also insist that there is no outage or maintenance being performed to their knowledge when I do phone in.

Anyone got any recommendations?

My next move, I'll be sure to make sure that I have coverage of every service provider available, LTE and fiber XD Mid Sandton perhaps XD

I'll be giving the directional ant a try in coming days. I doubt it will help, as it seems the tower keeps going down IMO.
Ill report if proven wrong.

Most useless advice ever given.

At least quote the whole sentence - the reality is it’s very doubtful that a cell provider will erect a mast to fix the OP’s issues in the short or even medium term unless there is major demand.
