HI,
Looking for a LTE mobile provider that will allow P2P (Unrestricted APN) for CCTV offsite monitoring. I know VC provide a unrestricted APN, but need more options. Any comments on MTN and RAIN? Is there anyone using this feature for CCTV?
Thx

Telkom also has an unrestricted APN that does not require any paperwork unlike Vodacom. Although coverage and speeds need to be checked beforehand as with any provider. I dont think MTN offers it any more to non business clients anymore although I stand to be corrected. Rain gives the user a CGNAT IP you'd likely have to make use of ddns with them.

A far better solution is to get a VPS from a hosting provider and then setup a VPN server on it, something like Wireguard or Openvpn, and connect your 2 sites to the VPS. That way you don't have to open up any ports at your sites.

Dyndns does not work rain, due to CGNAT being used. Same applies for port forwarding on rain.
You can get around the CGNAT by having a VPS running something like RouterOS and Wireguard. Then accept the traffic on that public IP on the VPS and forwarding it to your own system/router/wireguard.

Or even setup your own Tailscale service and keep all the CCTV systems on that private network and firewall it off from everything else.

Source: have done it on Rain and MTN.
