Please Help. I need advice

My daughter has started At Stellenbosch University. She lives in a Student Digs in Universiteits Oord. While she has access to 10 Gigs every month, the line speeds are so crappie ( not sure whether it’s ADSL, fibre, Lte etc.) It’s better for her to use her cellphone data at the moment because it’s faster. I was thinking of getting her a lte package and router so she can have better access to the internet. She will probably use it for Netflix streaming, you tube study videos etc. Can someone please recommend a provider that will work in that area. I have heard that internet connectivity issues are common around the university and didn’t want to enter a contract only to have to change.
Must be speeds in excess of 20mb

You can try rain. But speeds are very inconsistent. Sometimes it's 40 to 60 mbps, other times it crawls at 4-10 mbps.

What kind of speeds do you get through MTN in the area. The last thing I want to do is to go with a provider and hear there are issues with signal there. When you say that MTN has the best coverage are you speaking generally or specifically to Universiteitsoord Stellenbosch

Thanks Craig. Are these speeds specifically for Universiteitsoord Stellenbosch. Then I have looked at Rains packages. They offer a 19 hour off peak package for R250 with R50 a gig during peak. Problem is that I see most of the streaming being done during peak. Am I missing something. Are ther other packages. The 5g option seems pointless cause there is no coverage

Yeah, I have a rain Sim and a Telkom prepaid back up where I load the mo'nice data. Post an approximate address and the maybe @Rouxenator can tell you the rainspeed. He did a speed test through town last year some time. He can maybe post the link to that thread, it might help.

Soeteweide Road, Universiteitsoord, Stellenbosch

MTN have the best coverage I think, but all providers offer a coverage map. Start at www.vox.co.za to see what services are offered in the area.
Do you have an approximate street address?

Coverage is one thing. It’s a university town so most of the major providers would have coverage, I would think. I’m more concerned about speed and reliability. The approximate address is Soeteweide Road, Universiteitsoord, Stellenbosch

MTN is good there

Consider a fixed LTE product from:
Supersonic
Axxess
Afrihost

Speeds should be around 20-30Mbps on average.

Also, there's a superspar up the road at helshoogte and En Route is another popular spot for snacks or sandwiches etc. on the go.
Very insightful. Particularly, the SuperSpar and Enroute suggestions. Thanks

Go get a Milo Slushie!

From what I remember, MTN used to work the best for me in Stellenbosch+surrounds, Telkom/vodacom/cellc all had their respective spots where they'd drop and fizzle. (With Telkom itself being impossible to use around campus)

The 10gigs she gets monthly is probably through WISH, which is a ****ing joke.
