Hi guys,
I'm trying to reload Windows XP on my friend's PC, but I just CANNOT get it to boot from the CD. I've changed every possible setting in the BIOS, but no luck. This includes putting only the DVD-RW in the boot sequence and even disabling the SATA support. I've even disconnected every other IDE device in the PC and only connected my DVD-RW (which definitely works), but no luck whatsoever.
I'm fresh out of ideas. In 15 years of using PCs, I've NEVER seen anything like this. And yes, the Windows CD is fine, I've tested it in my PC, in my DVD Writer, which is currently in his PC. And yes, I've even tried connecting the DVD Writer as Primary Master...
