Lucky version 13 for Chrome browser

I really like Chrome but just can't pull myself away from Firefox

Every hear of using minor version numbers for all those pesky bug fixes?

Opera : 11 versions since 1996 = 0.73 Versions per year
Chrome : 13 versions since 2008 = 4.3 Versions per year

Guess they have a lot to fix or to catch up to.

zomg... those features are exactly what i have been looking for...

Firefox please add these asap. i don't want to have to switch.

+1 to above posts.

Firefox 4 is rocking! I like Chrome alot, but still can't get myself to switch over. Lots of great innovation that is moving the industry forward in a big way. I hope Firefox copies all the great Chrome features. Open Source competition FTW!

I'm embarrassed to say, but if I don't read about it on MyBB, I would probably not even notice the change...In fact I just noticed that I am on 12 :erm:

I prefer to call the new things included in Chrome with all the releases "features", not "bugs" - Maybe it is just me

Meh, I'll stick with Opera, worked for me since 1998, they had tabs before other browsers even existed.

I used chrome for quite a while but then just went straight back to firefox. They can't compete with firefox's add-ons...

I'll only switch to Chrome as soon as it allows the same levels of customisation that Firefox offers. And that's not even taking add-ons into account.

Finally
Now I can check my personal and my works email simultaneously which uses the same email provider. [ ....Am I right? I hope I am...]

Will probably only use the browser for that I guess.
Else its back to Firefox and Opera.
Opera for general browsing
Firefox for multimedia

Reading all your replies i have to say that many of you have clearly not delved into the true power and customizability of Chrome. There are more plug-ins for it than FF btw... And from a developer perspective, Chrome's debugger and other tools smokes the competition ( not even firebug comes close)...

Are you using the stable version or beta? I'm only on Chrome 11 on the stable channel, no 12 yet.

Open firefox and go to about:config. Let me know if Chrome comes close to that, and I may reconsider :)

I prefer ease of use over "techno-geeky power"
At the end of the day, my browser must do what I want it to do without me having to become frustrated.

My personal experience thus far has been as follows stock standard with no add-ons:

Opera loads pages faster than all other browsers , I like the download manager
Firefox handles multimedia sites eg. youtube the best , hate the download manager
Chrome crashes too much , love and hate the download manager, files download without confirmation and where I would like to save them

I don't have too much add-ons except for lastpass, some video downloader, adblocking.

That's the jist I guess, no point in going any further into detail as to why I use a particular browser for a certain function.

about:config
Just looked under the hood. Does anyone know how to stop me from being logged out from lastpass every 15 minutes or so

Chrome has done a lot of good for the browser market with its light UI and omnibox, and I've been using it now for a few years, having switched over when Firefox search-as-you-type became unusably slow.

But Chrome has its fair share of problems:
1. Bugs. e.g. a 401 Authentication box popping up in a background tab would crash the whole browser. Ridiculously easy to reproduce; was left unfixed for 3 years.
2. Memory consumption - supposedly the cost of isolating the processes to prevent whole-browser crashes (but see 1.)
3. Text selection is unintuitive. Can't put my finger on it but it doesn't work the way I expect.
4. The download manager is terrible. It refuses to resume downloads that stop due to a connection break. You also have to leave a tab open for it. So much for background processes!

The thing I love about it though is that it's motivated so much progress in Firefox (and even IE, maybe). Nobody even makes any money out of these browsers but the free market still works its magic.

They are also making major strides towards legitimizing the browser as an app platform. JS is blazing fast in Chrome. All that's left really is DOM performance and some lower-level OS APIs, which frankly I think we're as likely to see from MS as anyone else.
