Wireless charging is a scam. It charges when placed on a charging matt, a charging matt I assume connected via a cable to a plug point.
The Finnish smartphone company has gone as far as collaborating with Fatboy to create a recharge pillow, and has partnered with Virgin Atlantic airline and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf chain to make charging pads available to customers.
Nokia is hoping that the social buzz created by people seeing wireless charging pads on airlines and in coffee shops will encourage people to buy Lumias over the competition.
Link.
I think... . Let me revise that. I know for sure that Nokia has some interesting plans with wireless charging. From their presentation, I picked up that they will be working with restaurants and other retail outlets to provide wireless charging facilities.
Imagine running out of battery while you are waiting for your wife while she is doing her monthly clothing shopping. What do you do? You wish you had somewhere to charge your phone so you can check what McCrazieGoalz is saying on MyBB. No?
No? Stop wishing.
Use your City Lens to locate an outlet in the mall to find out were the nearest FatBoy wireless charging pad is. Its at Mugg & Bean. Next time your wife pops out of Foschinis you ask her to go and have a cup of coffee with you at Mugg & Bean. While you are having your coffee you will be charging your phone at a charging pad that is unobtrusively located somewhere convinient at your table.
Problem solved, your wife can go and continue her shopping and you don't have to moan about how long she is taking. Mugg & Bean makes a buck or two from you unless both of you ordered tap water.
this is my next phone, unless htc comes out with something totally awesome
Just read, this phone is 185g ?
That is kind of a dealbreaker![]()
Valid point, didn't consider that. Still though personally I prefer the latter, I don't mind charging it every night. The real problem comes when you go away for a few days and there isn't a plug nearby :SIsn't it heavier because of the 2000mAh battery? Imo it is better having a heavier, thicker phone with a decent battery than super-slim that lasts a day.

As for the glove touch-ability while handy (excuse the pun) is there not the risk of unsupervised inputs? I see it responds to touch from a car key as well so if you put your keys down next to it and one just happens to touch the screen it could respond.
