Thanks.

Yeah I also packed away after this shot. Pretty happy with the few shots I got. Especially with my crappy tri-pod creeping the whole time.

My tripod was ok, but it was struggling.... the long lens is rather heavy. I did make good use of the 2 second timer though. The tripod needed time to stabilise.

Ok here we go, from the start until about 20 mins ago. Sorry about the last pic, the damn mirror lock-up wouldn't work for some reason, so the shutter kept creating motion blur (2 seconds shutter speed, and low ISO, else noise is too much).

what exposure times are you guys using?, and what kind of set-up do you need to get close to that kind of quality?
I`ve tried taking pics of the moon before, all failed

Wow, every moon on every plant spins at the same speed as it's parent plant. So every planet will have one side of their moon face them...

Looks amazing. What glass and camera did you use?

I experimented with mine, but anything from 0.3s to 1.5s on my shots.

I took all shots at ISO100. I played around with the shutter and aperture a bit. Anything between F10 to F14 and 1/100 to 1,5 sec

EDIT: and sitnet just made it look like I used a disposable camera with his awseome shots. Nice

My camera laughed at me when I tried anything in the low ISO regions. I didn't feel like hitting full-manual either.

Same here, well after sitnet's pics I decided to call it a night and pack up, need to finish my work anyway :)

Wow, some amazing pics! Was pretty awesome to see with the naked eye. I would've forgotten about it if I just hadn't looked right up at it by accident.

Dunno what sitnet was using, but as mentioned, I used a Canon 7D with a 100-400IS f/4.5-5.6 with a 1.4x extender (equates to 560mm). Only the 1D allows this combo in Autofocus, so I had to MF the photo - luckily the onscreen 10x zoom allows me to focus on far distances with relative ease.

Here's my first try at a HDR, I did it manually with photoshop, because its automated "HDR pro" messes up the exposure and causes noise...
