Mac Filtering Blues

My company recently mac filtered as well as WPA2 protected their network.

I run a computer sales and repair business which feeds off that network.

Where as before I could simply connect machines I was working on to the internet via LAN cables;

I now have to make use of USB WIFI adapter (the mac address of which Ive already entered into the router.)

My problem is that to do this I first have to install the drivers on each machine I'm working on which is time consuming and annoying.

Any ideas

We're an internet cafe / PC sales and repair business running off the same router.

Due to huge bandwidth theft we've placed greater security measures in place.

These measures have come with complications though as i stated above.

Your suggestion is not going to save us any more time than installing the drivers on each machine as I'm currently doing.

why dont u chill with the attitude a bit?

Why not get a second router (add its MAC to the table), connect that to the primary, create your own LAN your side?

If you can plug a ethernet cable into your current router, get a 5 port router (not a hub or switch, it needs to be a router) and plug that into your current router. Add its mac address.

Now you have 4 ports left that don't need any authentication, you must just set up the routing.

Otherwise, get a wifi router with lan ports and do the above, only link wirelessly instead of via ethernet. I would recommend the MikroTik RB450: http://www.scoopdistribution.co.za/product_info.php?cPath=100_34&products_id=916

Thanks for your suggestions.

I was thinking along similar lines so came in to work early this morning to try just this.

Only to find out (after about half an hour) that an ordinary switch like the one i was trying to use (as you also mentioned) will not work.

Ive dug up an old ADSL2+ Router (Edimax-AR7084A).

Can this be used as a Router?
