PS--posting from OS X El Capitan on a mac mini mid-2011, 5,2 version.

Thanks to gfmalan...he shared the *.bin file, which I used to burn a bootable USB in Windows using ImageUSB app...

You need the *.bin file, not DMG or ISO...the USB does not boot if you are using DMG/ISO to burn the USB.

Anyway...let me get on to the next mission....lockdown fever. ;-)

365 work two versions back on OS, so install High Sierra (also your last supported OS on your hardware).

yeah..Afrihost will feel it today...I must have downloaded over 100GB just today...(let me just keep quiet now):p

Quick update: I let El capitan upgrade to High Sierra from the App store--I left it overnight, and this morning it has upgraded fine.
so now on 10.13.x
