Here's hoping that on the second Tuesday in March Apple will release a Core i7 Mac Mini:)
Fingers crossed!

Hahaha, not likely. Think they might bump mac desktops around the Lion release. I am keen to see a dual core i7 mac mini (or even a quad core i5 :P)

Too many "devices" nowadays.. Difficult to choose between an iPad + Apple TV (R6000) vs macmini (R6000 excl wireless mouse and keyboard) just to be able to have a "nicer" TV streaming experience.

Any real world experiences?

depends if you want to use a bit more on it.. media centre.. maybe some games (low end)..

Or you can pickup the previous models and use that as a media centre

Mac Mini makes for a very good desktop as well.

I ordered my mini off Amazon in 2006 (1.66 GHz Intel Core Duo) for media centre duties and we've been using it every day since.

Mini will definitely not have i7. i5 maybe.

What i'm pondering is what a mini with SSD would look like. :D

The mini, iMac and mac Pro are due for an upgrade.
I want a desktop for media and dev work.
