Mac OS X with Nokia 6210 Navigator as modem

Hi All - all the settings I can find for this do not seem to work. Every time I try to connect it says connecting for a few seconds and then hangs forever with a status of 'disconnecting' (I have to logout before I can try connecting again) and no errors are shown.

I'm using the following settings:

Phone no: *99#
Account Name: MTN
Password: blank
Vendor: Nokia
model: GPRS (GSM/3G)
APN: MyMTN (I've also tried internet)
CID: 1
no dns set
when asked for name and password I leave the fields blank

Has anyone got any suggestions for getting this working? Thanks.

Sorry to bump the post, but can somebody at least please confirm that the settings I'm using are correct? I'm heading off on holiday this afternoon and need to get this working... Thanks.

apn is myMTN (not capital M in my)
also try internet
set a trivial password
set the the username to the apn you use and the password to anything
Best I can do with information available

I presume you're using it through Bluetooth?

It's a known problem with Apple, and unfortunately they're refusing to fix it.

I'm sitting with the same problem on my Mac. Try rather to use the USB cable - haven't had the same amount of errors. Just once or twice did it do that. BUT, be careful when disconnecting. Make sure you disconnect properly!

Bluetooth? A known problem? Is this with Bv2 and a v1 device or bluetooth in general or just Nokia?

For many years, my Macmini and Z800 Sony Ericsson (via BT) worked seamlessly.

It seems to be a Nokia specific problem.

Oh yes Kilps, also restart both your phone and the Mac and it might temporarily resolve the issue.

My Nokia 6234 Sync's and connects seamlessly to the internet with my Mac. Some Phone's do give problems thou and you cant really blame Apple for that, blame the manufacturer for refusing to support Mac. (I'm looking at Sony Ericsson specifically, they really hate the Mac.)

A Mac fanatic that I know, researched the problems with the Nokia connectivity, and aparantly it's definately an issue that Apple needs to address in Mac OS X. Do you connect via Bluetooth or data cable?

Through the cable I don't have issues.

Syncing is fine with both.

SE should work well with BT, since they started it.
