mac sharing issue

then if I install vnc viewer will it work and can copy to the windows pc? cos if i need to see the windows pc from mac then there is a problem as well. i can not see them but was trying to get one way going first. just to copy all the data over.
 
ok - it could be the vista version.

Does Run > \\IP_Mac_Machine\username get you anywhere?

BTW - Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection works well and, while its running, shares folders.
 
firewall on which machine? on vista machine as far as my knowledge goes does not make a difference. on mac there is no firewall i think

OSX - the firewall is found under Security preference pane.
 
ok it is set to allow all incoming connections i tried switching it over from wireless to wired but still no luck even under shared in the mac it only sees the one xp machine why cant it see the vista basic or xp pro pc
