MacBook Air 13" FNB deal

I use to do some more hardware intensive work back in the day but honestly I don't anymore. I basically work with documents, web browsing, downloading(legally of course) and emails. For me, I think any old laptop could get away with that. But I hate the fact that most laptops tend to breakdown after 2 years( normally just after the warranty goes).

Go with the Air if you are happy with its limitations which may affect you in the future.

I currently do pay like 100 or 120 or something like that for bank charges so if it stays that way and I don't get charged for swiping or Internet banking then it's fine.

Ja, my imac broke after the 1st year.
And its taken me a long time to get over that.

I took out the extended warranty for my mac mini.
So its safe for 3 years.

I don't see the 4gig ram or the hard drive as limiting though. I'm currently using a laptop with 4 gig ram and it gets the job done. I also keep my crap on an external.

Wrt the new air or upgraded version I don't see a big change in the performance. Do you guys think we would see a price change on the older 2014 version?

Best laptop you'll ever own. I had one last year, then decided to upgrade to a Macbook Pro and I honestly preferred working on the Air.

I took the Macbook Pro 13 retina 128 gb, just finished last installment... Was so worth it... The 128gb is restrictive but i just bought an external drive and that was it.

I must say atm there is not much on their site but it changes constantly... some months they offer 5 or 6 options and others not so i would say wait a bit till they bring some other options...

then again with the rand weakening the installment is probably gonna go up soon

I thought the Retina display would make more of a difference and wanted a bit more power under the hood. I've ended up not really utilising that power though and the Air would have sufficed just fine for most of my daily tasks.

I was wondering about the availability and whether or not the updated versions would come out soon. Will sit and think about it. Glad you enjoying your purchase

Both MacBook Air models prices have been reduced. However fnb is saying they won't be adjusting there price. Which is a R2000 difference in total price.

If you want to go through FNB, then its probably better to wait for the 2015 model if they're not dropping the price.

I don't see much difference in performance between the two models. I'm very tempted to take it at the price the istore is offering it at though.

That's why I took the deal now.
R3000 less than the new model will probably be.

I'm ok with last year's model.

I have the 2012 Air through FNB and it has been a pleasure. Everything boils down to what you want to use the laptop for. My air is still running perfectly but I am at the point where I am considering upgrading to a Pro.

Btw there were no hidden costs at all for me through FNB.

That's the thing, a Retina Pro is about 15 - 20% overall bigger/heavier; in some parts the dimensions are the same, and in other parts it's even slimmer. Far more power - literally double RAM and CPU. Iris graphics FTW too.
