Hi all, first post here but long time lurker!

Would appreciate some advice - I have just bought the infrared remote for my Macbook. I knew that Macbook doesn't have infrared but the guy in the mac shop told me it was Bluetooth (hmmmmmm) and I wasn't any the wiser!

Are there any alternative remotes which can work with the macbook or an infrared usb or ??? Wish to watch dvd's without having to get up and use the keyboard, of course.

Many thanks
JJ

How old is the MacBook because it should work. Go into your security preference pane and enable it IR receiver. :)

thanks Bwana, it is 2009/10 macbook white and as far as I know does not have IR receiver and is not in security preference pane....

There's an app called Salling clicker which turns any phone into a bluetooth remote. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, get remote app.

Or get a bluetooth keyboard and hit cmd-escape.

Ok - my mistake.

Do you have an iPhone/iPad?

no, Nokia E66 which does sync fine with bluetooth on my computer, so will give that a go and Salling clicker... thanks guys, appreciated
