Hi There

I have a white Macbook which I bought in 2008 and I would like to upgrade the memory from 1 to 2 GB. Do you know what type of memory I can use in this Macbook and where would be the best place to find memory. I don't want to go to an Apple dealer because they charge crazy prices.

I live in Cape Town.

Thanks

Cheers

Just about any DDR3 SO-DIMMS memory will do. You can probably get it from Incredible (or any good electronics store) near you... Take you 5 minutes to put in yourself.

You'll probably need to source DDR2 RAM, that's what both of the MB's in front of me now take.

I second the DDR2 - mine is the last non unibody plastic Macbook & it's still rocking DDR2...

Why do people keep referring others to international online shops when they can get the same ram here for cheaper?

Why do people whinge for the sake of whinging? If you have a local site explaining this with a store then post it. The site offers a resource on identifying your machine, and shows you which modules you need and how many Gigs of memory you can install. Where you source it is your choice...

Or

Are they any different and will they work on my 2011 MBP

The Patriot will work - not sure why the prices are different, guessing maybe the site has a typo or something..
I used Corsair DDR 3 1333Mhz in mine, worked like a charm..

As far as i know macbook (2008-2010) white will only support DDR2 1067/1066 and not DDR3.

Has any one tried DDR2 1333 for macbook white.

I doubt it. :)

Sorry for the Hijack but looking for 8GB of memory below or similar for my late 2008 MBP 5.1. Locally or overseas if someone wants to split shipping?
