I got mine from Takealot - March 2019 , looks like it's the same as yours

Have tried different cables Type-C - >Type-C and USB output to Type-C input
MacBook Pro 15" 2017 never shows the chaging status

When I use Type-C - >Type-C the Sense 8 LED flashes, making me think the Mac is now charging the battery pack??
how do you connect them ?

I got mine on the takealot black friday sale last year.
I use the type c charging cable that my power adapters use. When they get plugged in the charging lights go blue and the macbooks charge.

This is the one I got. Didn't come with any charging cable or anything.
