The laptop was R32,000 so i would like to keep the screen scratch free

It's such a nice screen I wouldn't want to put anything between it and my eyes. It's like putting a r100 uv filter on a r30000 lens.

I have become a victim of "Staingate" with the anti-reflective coating coming off my 13" Retina screen and a screen protector stops or significantly slows the spread, so I would be keen on finding one, too. The 15" screens are even more widely affected.

Could you post a picture - I have only ever seen extreme cases online. Apple would honour repairs though - or?

It usually starts around the webcam, after trying to clean the fingerprints off the screen, even with a microfibre cloth only dampened with plain water. Apparently it spreads rapidly once it has started. I also have lesser marks around the bottom edge.
Apple around the world has varied responses to it - some places fix it even when out of warranty or Applecare, others refuse saying it is cosmetic or to wait until Apple issues a general recall.
