Connection Timeout...

Only unsecured network gets connected to...

I have been looking around the web and it seems to be international issue...
 
What type of WAP are you trying to connect to?

WPA?
 
Netgear adaptive signalling WAP. Don't have the model number. Soz.
 
hi.. im not sure if this is the correct space to post my problem.. but its bugging me big time!!!
i cant connect wirelessly to our Telkom 5102G router....
when i click on my airport and want to click on our wireless tab thing it says
" the selected network uses an access control list to restrict access and this comupter is not on the list... see the administrator for access" ????
please help.
its such a mission for me to sit on the same spot with a LAN cable...
i have a macbook pro...
can you help??

o and i have not had an issue before using my wireless... when i updated my mac on the 29th april it stared saying this..
i updated my firmware?? and security updates, my airport utility...an airport extreme update??

Have you enabled MAC filtering in the telkom router - if so try disabling it.
 
This is a problem with Leopard 10.5.2. It has nothing to do with routers. It also seems to be only a problem with native leopard installations. I have a MB which was upgraded to Leopard, and i do not have this problem, but my father have huge problems with this on their Telkom Wifi Access point.

I was told that sometimes disabling IPv6 on the Airport might help. So far i'm hoping that 10.5.3 which was released last week fixed this
