So around what time locally will this happen today??

Hope 10.5.2 fixes my SMB problems - been running DAVE to properly access my Lan drive and am on the 3rd evaluation already (damn evaluations only last 3 weeks) - running out of e-mail addresses to register for the trial versions...
 
According to the widget its 10 hrs 40 min from now so 18:00.
 
What problems are you having with SMB, adsl3g? Mine's working surprisingly well.

One thing that is still plauging me is the keys dying. It happens, as far as I can tell, only in Finder - I almost always notice it when I create a folder or want to rename something. I have applied all the available updates.

I cannot read/copy files > around 900kb to my imac and Macbook from the LAN drive. Seems I am not alone judging from some posts at the Apple forums. With DAVE network client I have no problem. Also not getting any firmware update for my LAN drive (Storagebird Lan 2)

My Macbook's keys don't die - just the first letter sometimes does not type out (got to press it twice) but also not a consistent problem.
 
Good thing I didn't buy one of those then. I didn't for a different reason though: none of them can handle linux filesystems on the disc - bizarrely, since they run an embedded linux.

I take it it you don't get the same problem on windows?

Bugger windows (I don't have it anymore) but I never had the hassel under OS X Tiger.

seems they actually listened to what people wanted... so far the announcements cover things listed as 'missing' from the v1 products... iphone even gets karaoke mode ala the little girl who got the lawyers letter. Wonder if she gets a free iphone?;)
 
iTunes movie rentals to go international "later this year".... Yeah right I want to see that happening. What are the chances we get a iTunes store with movies but no music?

I dont think SA is their idea of international - he's probably referring to existing iTS locations. :o
 
bwana, where are you watching? I was hoping there would be a stream via quicktime or something but I don't see anything.
 
Me too - thought you might know of a better place.

It's kinda weird reading from the bottom up. And I'm on 3G at the moment (ADSL line in my new place is actually syncing today, I'm just waiting for the ISP to send me my new IP address) and my reception sucks. So after about 10 minutes the page is still loading images. Every half a minute or so the text jumps downwards as another image gets loaded. Frustrating...

OMG there really is a MacBook Air... what a crappy name.

Its pitched between the macbook and the MBP... thinner than the thinnest part of the Sony TZ, but 13.3" screen, same as the macbook, but with LED screen backlight and illuminated keys same as the MBP... sounds like a machine Bwana will never buy...

It looks like serious bling... Jobs just put it into a message envelope, looks like letter/A4... 1.6GHz C2D 80GB HDD, 1.8GHX option with 64GB SSD HDD. but expensive...
