Mag confusion, please help

guys, Im told that the mags on my Golf 5 GTI are actually polo mags... is this right?

I know there are 17" and 18" and I always thought that mine were simply the 17" ones.

This is my car (which I thought has 17" GTI GOLF rims)

I think they actually right hey...but seeing as the Polow GTi was made after the G5 GTi...its actually the GTi 5's 17 but the Polow has the same...why you surprised? VW uses and abuses, what do they call it, platform sharing? so this is ust wheel sharing...the 18 has a shiny look to it with blacked edges, looks better, whoever still buys a G5 GTi with 17's are just wrong!

Absolutly!

iirc the polo is 5x100 and the golf 5 is 5x112
so they not the same

I have just confirmed with VW that the polo gti came with 16", the golf gti with 17" with the 18" as an optional extra

Wow someone with 17" MK5 wheels!!!

Nope it is MK5 wheels, yours are 112PCD mine (Polo) are 100PCD and they 16".
VW offered Alloy 17" wheels as standard on the MK5 Gti, the 18" optional wheels were R2000 extra for the set and they have the grey in between the "Dials" of the wheel. I prefer the 18s on the MK5 but I like the Alloy look on the Polo.
