mage armor not depicting right icon

Hey guys why does this happen i have a lvl 40 mage that has ice armor rank 2 which is meant to give me 570 armor and 13 frost resistance but when i cast it the icon by the minimap shows 380 armor and 9 resistance why

This has happened to me before as well.

For some reason my cast bar didn't auto update when I trained one skill some time back. Was strange and I only realized it way past that specific rank. I think mine was stuck on rank 3 of something and I was on rank 7 already in my spell book.

So I would go with your suggestion. He needs to make sure the right rank is in the action bar.

Perhaps you cast it using a macro?

Make sure you use the correct rank in the macro, or use () for the max rank.

this once happened to me on my pala.I was running around with a devit aura that was suppose to give me 1k armor but the buff (under your avatar) showed it only gave me 500 so put it off checked what my armor is and put it on again and it did give the 1k but still listed 500 so just check if this aint maybe the prob

I did it with Living Bomb

I was like: "Living Bomb sucks =/ " but it was on Rank 1 xD

One of our priests was bitching about healing at level 80 till he realised his clique addon was still using his lvl 70 rank spells

He's feeling much better now.

No i definately checked it was the highest rank like i said the spell said says it must give that much but it the icon says otherwise will check wat armour it really gives

If you're spec'ed into improved frost shield (Frost Warding) you will still get the bonus armor/resistance but the buff tooltip won't show it. If you hover the mouse over the spell on your bars it should show the correct amount.
