Mahindra has finally released official images of its Scorpio-N Adventure special edition. Here’s how much this off-road-ready 7-seater SUV costs in South Africa…

While we’ve known about Mahindra South Africa’s Scorpio-N Adventure special edition – as well as its sticker price – for several months, the Indian automaker’s local division has only now released official images of this off-road-ready derivative.

Pictured on Mahindra’s stand at NAMPO 2024 in Bothaville, the Adventure-badged model is positioned at the very top of the 5-strong Scorpio-N range, priced at R644 499. That’s despite it seemingly being based on the Z8 4×4 derivative (R573 199) rather than the top-spec Z8L 4×4 variant (R608 199).

So, what sets the Adventure – a nameplate used for a similar limited-edition variant added to the previous-generation Scorpio line-up in 2021 – apart from the standard model? Well, in its marketing material, Mahindra describes the special-edition variant as being “designed for those who seek the ultimate off-road experience”.

It thus adopts what the brand calls “made-for-purpose” steel off-roading bumpers, all-terrain tyres, hiked suspension and underbody protection. In addition, the Scorpio-N Adventure gains a roof rack manufactured from machined steel and finished in black powder-coating, as well as black-plastic fender extensions.

How much does Mahindra’s Scorpio-N Adventure cost in SA?

I am curious whether they will release the Mahindra Scorpio-N with a longer wheelbase in the years to come. I like its current compact size, but it does have its limitations. The Global Pikup concept has a longer wheelbase, and, well, it shares with the Scorpio-N.

It is estimated to be released ~2017, and will undergo changes.

Every Scorpio-N owner I have spoken to likes their car, but some have removed the seats in the back. All 4x4 peeps.
 
Adventure-ready Mahindra Scorpio-N edition revealed at Nampo

Mahindra is celebrating its 20th anniversary in South Africa with a larger-than-usual display at this year’s Nampo Harvest Day show near Bothaville, and a new special edition SUV to boot.

At the centre of the Indian’s brand’s display this year, the Mahindra Scorpio-N Adventure is kitted out with unique features that make it more capable and user-friendly off the beaten track.

Key among these is raised suspension, additional underbody protection and unique 18-inch black alloy wheels with off-road-biassed tyres.

The edition is fitted with unique off-road front and rear bumpers that improve the approach and departure angles.

only complaint i would say is the barn door (some like it, some don't) and,
the 3rd row setup

Hes taken out his 3rd row out and put a flat floor mcguyver

Edit: would grab one of these instead of a Tuna for sure

I agree on that 3rd row, seems like such an afterthought. Would have been miles nicer if it was integrated better

ja whether up or down its not nice.

Would also be nice if they had a cover thingy for when the seats are folded, cos otherwise your whole boot contents are visible to the public.

That said, it could be make or break for some, could be a nothing burger for others... it drives really nice, is decent on juice and a topish spec scorpio n costs as much as a base level tuna or everest...

so much winning for a few nitpicks hey
