Tried it for sh*ts and giggles once, and posted a few chats here. All I saw were mostly dudes stroking their cocks on webcams.

It's a scam, whether or not you get the woman (assuming she's not seized by customs) you end up losing a lot of money. There are plenty of available gold-diggers in SA for much less hassle.

Friend (50 at the time), his wife died. He went to stay with his sister in Berlin. While he was there, they were introduced to the couple in the flat above, and had several meals together. He found out that the guy, Robert was a German of 48 years old the his wife, Anna, was actually from the Ukraine and they had only been married 6 years. Robert told my friend that he had seen Anna's picture on a dating website setup in Kiev and had gone there to meet her. She was 28, good looking (not not stunning), had an Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and was unattached, never having been married. She moved to Berlin with Robert and they got married a year later. So she phoned the guy who was running the agency in Kiev (by that time there were dozens of similar websites) and met two women, Barlinka and the one he eventually brought back to Germany, Valentina. She could only speak Russian and a bit of German at that stage. She started to learn English and by the time they left, was quite good. He called the SA Consulate and explained the position, they told him that if they were legally married in Germany, the consulate would issue a temporary passport so she could enter South Africa.

This was in 2007. They live at his house in Camps Bay. His children welcomed Valentina who now speaks very good English with an accent. She is 34 years old, keeps house immaculately, will not have any servants, has learned to drive and has her own car. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met. Last year her parents came out from Kiev. They had never been out of the Ukraine before and only spoke Russian. He told me they were like peasants from the farm, did not know what hot and cold water from taps was and got a big fright when they saw the sea for the first time in their lives.

So, a happy ending. Val tells me that most of the Ukranian girlie websites are run by con artists and scam rich English and Germans every day

Seems to either work out well or end in a total disaster. Haven't heard of anything in between yet.
