I was always under the impression that these were women that you just clicked to "add to cart" and who would then be sent to you.

Recently discovered that the mail order bride industry is essentially the same as online dating. Barring of course the women that just want to get out of dire circumstances in their countries.

Anyone have any experiences with mail order brides?

NB. No I'm not planning on trying it out...yet.

find your own

those woman obviously want a new job in a new country and only way forward is marrying that person

they get papers immediately
 
Well I don't think you should be banking on a long-term relationship when "ordering" your chosen bride :D
 
I also thought you would "add them to cart" and they would be sent to you.

My friends gf's father got himself one from china or japan or somewhere. he had to go over meet the women, marry her in that country and then bring her over here and marry her here.

Seems pricey!

Wouldn't you also have to worry about them getting stolen by customs or the post office?

Yeah there's quite a few of those around. I tried Omegle the other day. The first thing chatters ask is "are you girl?"
 
My Aunts brother had a Russian bride.

He met up with her in Russia and brought her back here. What a money leach... sucked him dry and it didn't work out.

She was actually quite dissapointed at how unrich he was.


I think in the end you have to just understand that you are still just purchasing a woman... and you can't really purchase love.
 
A foreigner marrying a South African is given a permit to reside in SA, not a permit to work.
They are 2 very separate concepts.

Have a Chinese friend who has been living in SA for 8 years, including doing Gr11 and Matric here and studying at University here. She had a work permit and a Residency permit. Had a stable job and relationship. Got engaged. Time came for Work Permit and Residency permits to be renewed and Home Affairs screwed it up big-time. Her work had to let get go and she was being threatened with deportation, so her fiance picked her up one day and they paid a little visit to a certain magistrate, a good 8 months before their actual wedding was planned for.

She was allowed to stay in SA because her marriage afforded her a Residency, but she was still not allowed to work. It took almost 6 months for DoHA to sort out their mess and give her the magic papers. Fortunately her previous job was still available and she could go back to work.

Also, it's hard enough to be happy while married to someone you actually like and love.
Marrying a stranger is crazy.
 
you dont need to order a bride to have them take all your money and dissappear hey. old fashioned or not. loyalty took a dive in the cesspool
