Ahh - I see. Speculative resource availability - good envisioning, but somewhat moot: in the interim, focus should be placed on more realisitic contingencies/action. Hope your big chiefs whack Nxasana and his cronies with the biggest stick they can find, which should include ICASA, the Ministry, DTI, etc. Cooperative action for mutual benefit is imperative - Sentech must position itself as being of equal importance to the national interest in line with Telkom and the yet unrealised SNO, particularly in this decade of delivery...
/me downloads some more porn

you know, i'm not suprised at all with this... its a part of South African's nature... if not happy, bitch and moan

Aha.... riiight, and the gazillion years Telkom has been around, all that bitching and moaning helped..... suuuuuuure

Most of you bitch about the 650 rand option of 128k. Hell, you haven't heard a peep out of me, spending almost 1.5k a month on 512k and also experiencing the slow downs you do

Maybe I'm just getting older, wiser... maybe a bit smarter. These small things really doesn't bother me, at the end of the day, i'm sitting, chilling, watching my big assed teevee and enjoying the company of my lady, surfing some, chatting online and yes, obviously the *** load of porn I download

not once have I run to the news paper... "oh help me, my connection sucks ass and they have duped me into buying sentech and now i wanna cry like a little bitch"

guess what you homos, YOU chose sentech...

what do they always say.... the grass is always greener on the otherside?

I laugh at you, watching you run back to telkom like the scared ho's you are

I have the utmost respect for TheRodent, and can't really say I agree with the action he took by posting that... a few weeks ago, I would have done the same...

yea.. *sip of his beer* I stopped caring...

Why do you have to "put your two cents in"... but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

Noone, I think you should really can it! Sounds to me that you are the most bitter person out of all the people here! [:D] oh... and by the way... DONT make me paste all your bitching and moaning in this topic! [:D]

If the SNO was launched when it was supposed to, none of this would ever have happened.

Blaming it on the SNO seems rediculous on the surface of things.

But: How can anybody plan investment in the bandwidth area nto knowing when (an if) the SNO will become oprational.

Even Telkom should be in trouble because of this. They most probably need to roll out more infrastructure if there is no SNO soon. But they can't because if they do and the ex Transnet/Eskom bandwidth becomes public available, there will be a total oversupply killing any chance of recouping the capital invested.

Just shows how bad the ITC environment is managed by government.

What should matter most to MyWireless consumers is the delivery of service, not who's fault it is that the service sucks. The email is as yet unreplied, but then again it is after a weekend.
To me its clear there are some things that almost every MW user on this forum wants:
1.) Honest and prompt communication from Sentech about matters affecting the service (downtime, bandwidth issues, new towers online, delays etc)
2.) A technical helpdesk that can actually give honest and knowledgable help.
3.) Clarification on the AUP and the contract terms in general.
4.) A more collaborative approach to solving problems and improving the service, through a communication channel that serves as a direct link between the customers and Sentech (ie. no call centre filter).

Right now it seems Sentech either doesn't know about these needs or doesn't want to know. I'm with LoneGunman, someone needs to formulate an official petition/memorandum that bears many MW usernames and puts forward the points above, and then we need to see it delivered directly to someone in upper Sentech MW management - maybe through ProASM if hes willing?

Not to piss you off or anything ...
But dont you think the top ppl of sentech would like to give you all that? Except the contract thigny's ... honnest communication.
But I think the rest on the list might just be obvious.

Havent you noticed that theyve actually said they are working on the problems quite hecticly ? I know everything aint going scweet and all ... but sending them stuff they allready know aint gonna help much. Now why dont we, go and get them schumacher's girls, (he doesnt need them no more) And send that to the sentech offices ...
I'm sure .. .after a couple of days of silence ... things will change dramaticly...
We just put a note on the girls ... somehting like ...
There's more where this came from ... if ...

hehe :)
Bah, anyways :)

I hear what u're saying Tr, but when was the last time Sentech actually communicated directly with their users? ProASM is about the closest we have to knowing what the hell is going on with Sentech.

Just had a phonecall from tech-support - do the usual speed test page - get (after waiting around 195 seconds for the 1meg test) 5.34KB speed.. There's the sound of a calculator working, then call centre person goes 'hmm, okay, you seem to be getting slightly more than the minimum contention ratio required..check Tucows for me.."
I d/l at a blistering 6k.. "Okay, I'll update the ticket" I ask if there're any problems on the network. "Not that I'm aware of"
I wish I had some peanuts to throw.. :P

Rodent - love the logo - made me wanna go hunting to see if Lopht's 'black crawling archives' is still around :) - according to the dingus on your speedtest page "Your current bandwidth reading is: 62.70kbps"

I get 110.2 kbps average (did the test 5 times spikes between 45 and 141!) on the 128 package!
