Please be advised that emergency network maintenance work is being conducted on the SAT3 undersea cable by technical teams responsible for its operation. This is affecting many backbone networks and telecoms operators in South Africa that route traffic over this cable. Some customers may already be experiencing higher latency on some routes that are seemingly unrelated, such as local traffic. We have been informed that estimated resolution is Saturday 24 April 2010 at 18h00. iBurst is working to ensure a minimum of disruption to our customers, but as some of the routes are not within our control, we would recommend that customers review any business-critical systems that may be affected.

For past two, three days been having probs in Weltevreden Park? Two nights ago I kept getting disconnected, tonight I'm having probs with sites that include FB (pics not all opening), ditto with MWEB, as well as their remote mail not opening. When I tried to log on at about 5:30 pm, had 100% signal, but no connection to any webpage I could think of, even Skype not working. Would this be part of the problem, or is my issue more local?
