Death by cap for 2 days and now this for another day :( thats over 10% downtime for me this month so far.

Started last night while I tried to sort out connection thru IPCop... :( Been down for close on 24 hours, actually hoped that this prob would be sorted out too, but no such luck.

I hope all this never comes down to CPT... always problems up there for you guys. Finally somebody actually said something in this forum, been real quite for the last few days.

RPM, I can testify to the fact that Sunnyside tower has been down the whole of the business day today from 09:00 to 17:00 when I left. It also went down for two hours yesterday.

I just get the details from www.iburst.co.za network status page, which anyone can access (not via Menlo Park, Wonderboom and Sunnyside, of course). There aint none details.

It was Jo'burg, then Pretoria

Sorry to say these but Durban and Cape Town iBurst messup artist might be coming for you.

Also about three days now, no response from WBS. I'm using Wonderboom tower that's been down for about 24 hours on top of the connection issue. Battled for a day to "fix" it before posting.

I'm just fed-up with the WBS attitude :(

Which router ... is it linux embedded?

Hi Seburn,:D

It's a little gigabyte 54m/bit wireless broadband router. Not sure if it's linux embedded though. I'm also connected to the Wonderboom tower, and it's been a problem for 3 days..

I logged a call with WBS 2 days ago and they promised to forward to second tear but so far nothing, logged another one this morning, promised to get back to me by 8:30. Still waiting...

Don't think it is embedded ... Are you also connecting to wonderboom ... try connect to another bs?

I'm afraid wonderboom is the only Base Station in range:( I'll just have to connect via the pc for now. Hope helpdesk phones me back.

Anyway thanks for the help.

Hi guys

I am trying to follow up on this problem. Can't get hold of iBurst but have left a message.

Can you just let me know if you are still experiencing problems?

And, when did it start?

Thanks,

Cara

Noticed that when you type in WBS iBurst on Google, MyADSL is the first page to show :-))!

Thought it might cheer up those of you struggling with your connection.

Started on the 14th, late afternoon / evening, if I remember correctly. At first I couldn't connect from Fedora 4 & IPCop, but was fine from Windows (ethernet & USB). Then Wonderboom and Sunnypark towers went down (on the 15th) for approximately 24 hours (the backhaul failure). Once the towers came back on the problem persisted, at least on Wonderboom. Yesterday morning Wonderboom went down again for a while. Later in the day I wanted to install m0n0wall as an alternative to IPCop, but decided to test first with FC4 and IPCop and all was fine :)

I had some feedback from various people at WBS and it seems like the backhaul failure had some effect on the occurance of the problem. It also affected other routers.

See related thread http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=31816

[Edit]
The dates / times are probably not very accurate, after 24 hrs of no response on my initial queries I lost my temper completely and wasn't even really interested on continuing with iBurst...
