We don't need a party that only represents a group of language speakers. So yes, thankfully the DA don't represent the Afrikaaners.

Fortunately the DA represents everyone, not just a bunch of people who speak a certain language.
 
IEC website updates:
JHB @ 15:41: DA 50.10% (down from 50.14%), ANC 43.95% (up from 43.87%), 435,943 votes (probably close to 50%) :)
PTA @ 15:41: ANC 59.18% (down from 61.19%), DA 34.93% (up from 32.79%), 878,639 votes (close to 100%) :(

Just over 1 million people apparently voted in PTA. I see DA is rising a bit. Just maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe. :p

Are you saying that only approximately 1 million people voted in Jhb ? Really?? I thought it was much more, but that was just guesswork on my side.

You are making quite a contradiction there :p.

What I really want to know is your use of the word 'thankfully'. In my eyes it looks like 'thankfully nobody supports them, because they speak Afrikaans'.

I feel the VF+ atleast tries to represent the Afrikaner while nobody else seems to do. The VF+ opens their mouth when it needs to, not always on the good manner, for sure. But the DA remains quiet on these issues the Afrikaner-gemeenskap (of which I find the bullying of the Afrikaans language, and the lack of response against Plaasmoorde by the DA, the most important ones) gets plauged by. There might be various reasons for that, and PhoneJunky might have proven a valid one for that.

I am by far not saying the VF+ is perfect ofcourse. No party is. Except if I would create one. ;)

I feel we need to drop this now, I made my point and some people made theirs, lets keep this topic for election results. I just wanted to make another reply though.

When I say, thankfully the DA don't represent the Afrikaaners.. I meant it as Afrikaaners and no-one else. Thankfully the DA represent everyone including Afrikaaners.

We don't have anything against the Afrikaans people. lol.
 
Is there anywhere that I can view up to date results? The news24 map doesn't seem to update at all.
 
DA wen "verdagte" wyk in Mandelabaai
Oos-Londen – Die Demokratiese Alliansie het die wyk in Nelson Mandelabaai gewen waar sy leier, Helen Zille, gekla het dat kiesers slegs een stembrief in plaas van twee gegee is.

"Die feit dat sy die wyk gewen het, ek weet nie wat dit beteken nie," het Bongani Finca, 'n beampte van die OVK, gesê.

Zille het Woensdag gesê sy beplan om 'n klag by die OVK in te dien nadat dit aan die lig gekom het dat vyf mense in wyk 52 by die Despatch-stadsaal slegs een stembrief in plaas van twee gegee is.

Despatch, saam met Port Elizabeth en Uitenhage, is een van drie dorpe waaruit die metro bestaan. Die ANC het die metro gewen.

“Ek het by die Despatch-stadsaal ingegaan. Terwyl ek toegekyk het, het ek vyf kiesers met slegs een stembrief opgemerk,” het Zille Woensdag in Port Elizabeth gesê.

“Toe ek dit aan die OVK uitgewys het, het hulle groot geskrik en gesê dit moet nie só wees nie.”

Sy het gesê kiesers het verby twee OVK-tafels geloop om by die stemhokkies uit te kom.

“Hoekom hulle nie voorgekeer is toe hulle verbygeloop het nie, weet ek nie. Dit was hoogs verdag.”

Finca het gesê die klag word deur die OVK se nasionale kantoor hanteer.

Did you vote at George lea,field and study or some place else :) Plus did your husband also get through the queue with you?
