I purchased a tv and I had problem with it switching off on it's own.. it makes a screeching noise and switches off and back on while watching.. this issue was within 30days... we took the tv back to makro nd they sent it to supplier to asses, supplier comes back with no issue report and that we should pick the tv up from makro.. I refuse to take this faulty tv as they are not sitting and watching the tv to pick up this fault .. what can I do as makro says they can only exchange and give us new tv if the supplier approves while supplier mentioned that makro will decide what they want to do..

It is Def makro's problem. Report them to the consumer ombud.

Take a video of it happening and show them.
That said, it can also not be a problem with the tv and maybe something wrong with your electricity at your house.

Is it by any chance a Sinotech?

This. It often works. Also ask for the store managers name and tell him you want it so when you tweet the issue you can include it…
I would be dam sure the tv is faulty before doing this.

As I said could be a brownout. Take TV home and record it.

Worst case scenerio you wasted time get new TV best case nothing wrong

Yes sinotec
Oh damn, whenever I go to Makro or Game I always see sinotecs being returned more than any other tv brand. Honestly I would suggest getting another brand. The new one will most likely give you issues too.

Strange, they have the longest warrantee of all the well-known brands. Used to be 5 years, but I see some now have 3 years. If they break so easy, surely they would not have those long warrantees?

Disclaimer: I don't own a Sinotec currently, but have in the past and never had a problem.

Yes sinotec
So, my insurance replaced our insurance claim with Sinotecs. One of the 42" inches would make a high pitch sound all the time. I complained to the reseller and they logged a call and the supplier said its normal, its the capacitors and thats how the TV is.

1 week later, the TV died and wouldn't turn on anymore. I phoned them back, and they collected it.

5 weeks later, I phoned to ask where the hell is my TV and the reseller emails Sinotec, who are represented by the most useless company in Edenvale thats representing Sinotec and Skyworth in ZA. What do they do? They send a snotty email to the reseller saying you shouldn't email us, log in to the portal - here's your username and password - AND CC ME on that email. lol

What follows is an argument between the two over email. Until i lost my patience and emailed the reseller and said either this gets sorted out, or i'm lodging a complaint against the insurance ombudsman to force the insurance company to get involved.

They finally agreed to just replace it with a Hisense at their own expense and said they would sort out things their side.

Moral of the story - the Sinotec OEM repairers are a bunch of incompetent crooks.

Ahh that is how bad brands get people to buy their stuff, by marketing their products with long warranties, Hisense, Haval, Chery are all examples of this. But when it is time to actually claim on the warranty you need to go through hoops which most likely will get your claim getting denied in anycase. It is just a marketing ploy.

Wait did Makro say they will exchange the TV for a new unit (same model) and you said no?
does not seem that way

we took the tv back to makro nd they sent it to supplier to asses, supplier comes back with no issue report and that we should pick the tv up from makro..

If the tv came back ok, then maybe try a different plug point in your house and use a surge protector etc. need to fault find 100%. If it still does it then record it like someone said and send it to XYZ
