MakuluLinux 3.0 ( Work In Progress )

Features :
  • Kernel 3.8.0.13.
  • Built from Ground Up.
  • Based on Debian Testing.
  • Rolling Release.
  • Multiple Desktop Environments ( Cinnamon, Gnome, Kde, Mate, Xfce ).
  • File Browsers ( Nemo, Dolphin, Caja, Thunar ).
  • Bringing the Ambiance look and feel to Debian.
  • Included Applications will be featured later.


Still in Very Early Stages of Development, but running extremely stable at this point, still a lot of work to do.

Version 3.0 wont replace version 2.5, they will both run side by side, since 2.5 is based on Raring ringtail and 3.0 is based on debian Testing. 3.0 will be a rolling release ( for those that dont know, Rolling release means you will always get updates, it never expires ) where as 2.5 expires end 2013.

Hehe, they do look sweet, but i still have quite a way to go before this is anywhere near ready for public use. Altho, development on Debian is surprisingly going much faster than it did on the ubuntu and mint builds, even tho there is ALOT more work involved, Far less issues ( just so many things that just work on debian that i really struggled to make work on previous builds, most not visible to user )... the only problem with Debian is getting proper functionality on par with easy of use of ubuntu and mint, and that is one of my main goals at this point, out of the box ease of use. I am confident tho that a public build should be ready in a matter of weeks...
