OK -- I post a lot of links to these guys

Can I help it -- they always seem to back up what I have posted earlier in the week :D

Malema, China and the 'Mugabe turn'

Paul Trewhela
18 April 2010

Paul Trewhela says the ANC faces a stark choice as to which path to follow

The president of the ANC Youth League, Julius Malema, has positioned himself at the confluence of the imperial interests of China in southern Africa and those of a faction in the ANC, indicating the possibility of a new Cold War in the sub-continent.

In a speech at Colesburg in the Northern Cape on Saturday, Malema repeated previously made threats to white-owned and western property interests in South Africa and added that "if investors were to leave, the Chinese would come in. 'The Chinese will work with anybody,' he said".

This adds a sharp focus to Malema's positioning of himself as the political representative in South Africa of the regime of Robert Mugabe and ZANU-PF in Zimbabwe, which is in debt economically, politically and militarily to China.

Those great wonderful folks in the great US of A are about to go bankrupt.

They have their arses tied up in Iraq AND Afghanistan.

Israel wants to implicate them in IRAN.

They are up the creek without a paddle -- EVEN HOLLYWOOD is NOT going to be able to save them this time.

Strange as it may seem the path to TAIWAN is through CAPE TOWN.

So where are you Mr Toxic Waste and Mr PeterCH ????

Booking your tickets :erm:

:D

( OH -- before I go -- did I mention that the North Korean team for SWC 2010 will be hosted in -- you guessed it -- ZIMBABALULA )

And if the USA goes bankrupt then China goes down as well, most of the Chinese investments are in US TB's, and the USA is the biggest market for their goods.

Money vs Ideology

You smoke too much of that stuff from Durban.

Talking to Taiwan is like the kiss of death from China.

Sorry -- do not get the first part

As for the second -- WHAT happened in 1929 -- lot of people had investments in the USA

Not ALL communists drive in a Merc -- especially not COMRADES

Especially not Jewish Comrades -- just ask Ronnie.

USA stock market sneezed and the rest of the world's industrialized nations got a serious case of the flu for nearly 10 years.

I read somewhere that had you bought shares just prior to the great crash and held onto them, it is unlikely you would have seen recovery enough to break even in your lifetime
China didn't take their "Great Leap Forward" until the 1950's ... I reckon they'd take a pounding just like the rest of the world if the US took a bath now

I also read that the Chinese are very wary of SA. They do not like strikes and protests. They also would like it better if we had more laws to keep people in check.

I do not like the idea much, but seeing The village idiot see his ass without a mirror will be a good sight.

The mainland Chinese shoot people for corruption - that could decimate the ranks of the ANC - especially certain focal members !

The Indians in Uganda were exterminated. The natives in Zanzibar committed genocide against the Arabs. The Portuguese disappeared like a fart in a hurricane in our neighbouring Angola and Mozambique. I can go on and on. My point is anyone coming to Africa will get burnt and China is no exception. There's a reason why Chinese premier called Zimbabwe a 'Partner' and not a 'friend'. They have already suspended financial aid to that country because our good Zimbos can't repay its debts. Just sit back and watch China get burned in Africa, just like any foreign powers in the last 300 years.

the difference is that:

india != china in military might;
china != born yesterday;
try(colonial european rulership){
revolt and civil war
}catch(europe){
neo-colonial guilt
}finally(china){
uses the corruption of africa to its advantage
}

Seriously dude WTF!

I wonder if black Africans know how racist the average Chinese person is towards black people. Until recently China still had a toothpaste called "darkie" for black people :p

I also don't think a "struggle" will help against the Chinese as they have shown in the past how they care about human rights

Did the entire average Chinese population colletively invented the toothpast with malicious intent to insult blacks? I think not. Just look at the average white SA middle class households who uses black maids and gardeners. Many of you live in it and don't realise it. I have North American and Europeans come visit and are appalled at our standard of living compared to blacks.

Sorry, but what is this "struggle" South African keep dwell about every now and then. There's always a struggle against apartheid, struggle against poverty, struggle against <insert your problem> People are what they focus on, keep focusing on your struggles and your whole life will be a struggle.

No they aren't. As long as everything is dollar denominated they are fine.

Worse case scenario is they print more USD to pay for stuff. That would devalue the USD....and since a lot of their debt is USD denominated it would also reduce their indebtedness.

Sure, not a brilliant plan, but thats one option that they have that nobody else in the world does.

Mehtinks your point is a bit BLUNT.

You forget that the Chinese think in terms of millenia -- NOT -- centuries

They could EASILY do a "North-American" on Africa.

Get rid of the blacks and bring in their OWN people -- there are enough of them.

Africa will become a PROVINCE of CHINA

Do you understand how 1929 started :confused:

BY A RUN ON LOCAL BANKS

NO ammount of printing is going to stop THAT.

Dude you're not making any sense whatsoever. Its just a bunch of perilously linked statements with lots of random caps, bold and -- double hypens thrown in.

How about you start by saying how an article about China + SA + Zim + Russia leads you to conclude that the USA is going to be bankrupted. I'm guessing it has something to do with a new cold war stand-off, but I don't follow how this will bankrupt the US? It clearly makes sense to you, so care to enlighten us?

Can't work out what you mean by 1929 either. A hell of a lot happened in that year. But since i"m being forced to guess, I'd say its either a reference to Black Tuesday or the Great Depression, neither of which was triggered by a bank run.:confused:

Besides, I was commenting on foreign debt, not bank/corporate debt so I don't see how local bank run fits in? Bank runs are a consequence of the fractional reserve banking system and loss of confidence, not indebtedness per se so...where is the link?:confused:

Well in theory JM is right. This country is hella poor, and he believes by becoming more communistic as a country our access to money supply will increase which will help them to support people out of poverty. Which in light of what is going on is kinda retarded. If the government cant even use a democratic system to grow industry how in the hell are they going to do it in a communistic system without international support?

What seriously pisses me of is the USA. Read again abit more aobut their financial bubbles. When the .com boom hit they lended like crazy to companies laying optic fibre and .com startups. In the end they were swindled out of trillions of dollors, but hey the bright side is when the dust settled they were better off as allot of companies made it through the boom and those that fell were in a great postilion to pick up and learn form their mistakes. What sickens me more is the state of their dollar, since their currency is a benchmark for global trade the value of their currency did not devalue like others would have with all the bad debt. Big + for them, mobilizing people around support(bling bling), growing industry, creating jobs and being first with technology. Money buys people and people do stuff.

What pisses me off more, is that they created the same sort of financial bubbles with Pension schemes. railroads, housing etc etc. Now we all are unhappy because we are feeling the brunt of their debts but they are smiling all the way, as they have more houses, railroads, optic fibre and money in the encomy through debt. But hey who cares, here in little old Africa we bitch and moan about semantics. While in USA they support heavily with imaginary money the growth of their economy. FCN sickens me.

At least the Chinese knows how to mobilize their people into factories for a rice bowl. Here in SA we mobilize people to die slowly with a government grant in an informal settlement.
