Malema arrest warrant issued

And so the mass-action against this begins. Expect violence outside the courts if it ever reaches that stage.

I highly doubt that. Sure there will undoubtedly be a handful of unhappy "youth" but people in SA seriously over-estimate the support that this douche bag actually has thanks to our media who have to report on every single brain fart he has.

Im expecting a couple of hundred people... max 2000. Thats about it. Doesnt matter if he has a soapbox, unless those people have satellite they wont see Malema in SA. SAFM have orders to keep Malema off the air as much as possible. Only time I get to see Malema now on his soapbox is in the private media.

2000 is more than enough to incite some pretty ugly things. Hell, Marikana showed that just a few bad apples can spoil the crop...

That was 3000 people fighting for their livelihood. I dont think that many people are willing to take a bullet for Malema :D Lets see how the first court case goes down :D

Only a few hundred turned violent and there are many willing to turn violent for the man they believe is leading them to economic liberation. If you were the police minister, would you deem this a non-issue?

Well... I wouldnt bring out the army for this one. Normal crowd control will work.

I think you're underestimating the grapevine-effect of people talking on the streets here. Most poor people in the poor communities saw the recent Marikana mining 'victory' as Juju's victory. He's not simply a media phenomena. Go ask a random worker-class person about Malema, watch their faces light up.

Crowd control? So you agree there exists a risk of this turning violent?
They have crowd control when the DA form a march.... this is no special thing. They will cordon off a couple of streets have a some cops and vans standing by and do what they normally do when they expect protesters...

Did Zuma not learn from his own court cases. This will just make Malema more popular!

best way to kick start the weekend

I expect loud noises, protests, blaming of whites and a slap on the wrist. Then he will rejoin the ANC and kick out Zuma.

he has fallen out of favor with the ANC. He is going to be nailed.

He's fallen out of favour with a faction of the ANC. The ANC has become the most divided and one of the most divisive political parties this country has had to endure and he's happily pig-tailing on the end of that...

/grabs popcorn and stocks up on beer

this could be one hell of a show, and it won't be over quickly

Malema Won't be in Jail this weekend but will be at court when the hearing starts... In the meanwhile... he (Malema) will be gathering the wildcats from Marikana to protest about his freedom.

Why don't they just arrest this fool on the spot??

Last time DA marched quite a few people got hit on the head with rocks. SA is not good at crowd control - the paid leaders either duck or stay at home complacently until afterwards.
