Malema completes his honours degree

Everyone knows that the standard of education has gone to schite in this country, so nothing special about the racist's degree.

So are all the degrees that are held by esteemed members of this forum, right? And don't tell me they got those during the good old days because everyone on this forum was born after 1994, remember?

He's a chop @Oppiekoffie

I'm not saying higher marks equate to more real-life success. My gripe lies with the fact that humanities degrees don't offer the same level of vocational direction as engineering. If you qualify with a BA degree you aren't adequately equipped for participating in a knowledge based economy in the same way that engineering students are. Universities should not be churning out masses of students with degrees that don't offer students much in terms of employability.

I couldn't agree more. Well said.

There is no "best profession" or "best degree". What there is instead is "what can I do that I enjoy the most and make a success of". People insisting that x profession/degree/qualification is the best are the type of people who are confused about what they want to do with their lives or are so insecure about the choice they have made, they desperately need some form of external validation of the choices they have made.

yup I also wonder what they mean by success? is this measured by how much money your boss pays you to be a slave everyday?

:erm: the first significant change in the school curriculum was literally called curriculum 2000 and implemented only after the year 2000 IIRC.

Anyone who matriculated prior to 2001 still had to meet proper "good old days" standards, and the universities only really started going to shyte much later than the high schools, circa 2008-ish, so again, if you graduated from university before then you're all good.

Naturally some universities held out longer than others so YMMV, happy to report I graduated under "good old days" standards despite not being of ancient age ... yet.

Are those assumptions?

Nah. you see, post-1994, for some years, genius teachers from pre-1994 area were still around so degrees obtained during their tenure are all good, nay excellent. Now, those supremely skilled people have migrated to Oz. Now none of that excellence exists now so all those post-excellence-migration degree are not valid.

TL;DR - all pre-94 education - excellent. All post-94/post-migration bad. Oz is better place as a result of migration.

You don't need to be an engineer to see how ridiculous the humanities has become.

You can marvel in the excellent performance of Interior Semiotics to see how silly us engineers are in engaging in scientific practices predicated on logic and reason.

Bunch of friggin' weirdos. Remember that movie "Idiocracy"? I can see it coming closer every day - and a lot faster than I would like.
