So, do you have a relevant study, statistical survey you may qoute yourself? It will help with the discussions. Since you mentioned the words "stastistical survey", "relevant study", I assumed you had access to some data? or Not?

Getting my degree was a challenge - Julius Malema

Malema said while it had been a difficult journey, it had also been exciting, but he had had to change a lot of things in his life to accommodate the academic programme.

Malema said he had to postpone an exam that he was supposed to have written a day before the State of the Nation Address earlier this year

"I was not going to attend the State of the Nation [Address]. When I heard that he [President Jacob Zuma] called the soldiers to Parliament, I had to abandon that exam and go and lead from the front, because I was not going to allow a situation where EFF members were going to confront the soldiers and I would be absent," said Malema.

"It is possible when there is an interest. All of us pretend not to have time but in reality we have a lot of time, we just have to create it and reprioritise our own things."

The paradox is that you need to be extremely intelligent to make a real difference in a field such as philosophy. I worked as a tutor and assistant lecturer in a philosophy department and the academic staff were stupid smart. Eventually I realised I wasn't smart enough to hack it and quit.

Really getting to grips with some of the more challenging aspects of philosophy is every bit as hard as engineering. The problem is the kids who gravitate towards humanities degrees are mostly those who barely got admitted to university. They then proceed to barely pass the majority of their modules and leave university with a (barely) degree, but no appreciable skills. They care about getting a degree and not much else.

If I had my way, they would raise the admission criteria for humanities degrees and admit only the brightest students who really show an interest in the field. Unfortunately, we live in a society where a piece of paper is more valuable than the actual education you are supposed to receive at university.

However the problem is driven by the "stupidly smart" people in the Humanities depts telling every government in the world to increase funding for universities, when they know full well that 99.99% of the people doing their degree are getting something that is worthless to the economy. Which leads me to the point that these people are evil and no better than the capitalist systems which they love to hate on.

He can never change his woodwork results and I am sure even staunche cadre's questions the methods he got this result. We have seen many false or questionable "degrees" held by politicians, MP's and goverment employèes in the last few years. ;)
