Malema composes, sings replacement for 'Die Stem'

The Afrikaans portion of the anthem seems very neutral to me. It's just about the country's natural beauty.

If anything it's the most neutral part of the entire anthem.

The rest of it's all about god and freedom. I don't believe in god and what encompasses freedom is a rather subjective concept. If anything rewrite those parts that don't represent me.

Many anthems do refer to God, at least ours ask God to save Africa, not to save the Queen, I think it's unselfish and very accommodating.

They are probably not written with atheists in mind, anyway there's more believers than non believers.

Yeah, many anthems were written before the 20th century.

So because there aren't many atheists around they don't deserve representation?

Is this how a free society works?

EDIT: don't get me wrong, I don't really care about the anthem, but the part I personally like the most in that anthem is the Afrikaans part talking about the natural beauty of this country (and nobody can deny that this land is beautiful)

We can just change Nkosi Sikilele to better suit reality..

Zuptas steel South Africa
dalk moet ons van Mbeki elektrisiteit vra
ongelukkig is die paaie maar rof
en die public servants onbeskof

en so voorts..

When the Stem (Old anthem) was written there was much more freedom than today. Also people worshipped God like he should be. Look around, why do you think this world is a schithole ? Because God is being let down.
