The ANCYL on Monday welcomed the outcome of a probe by the public protector which could find no irregularities in contracts awarded to SGL Engineering Projects, with which ANC Youth League president Julius Malema was involved.

"These findings altogether overturn the allegations spread by the media and rumour-mongers that the ANCYL president was involved in improper dealings with municipalities through SGL [Engineering Projects]," ANCYL spokesperson Floyd Shivambu said in a statement.

"Despite spirited and recurrent clarifications, the media continued to portray the ANCYL president as corrupt and someone who flouted processes in municipalities to get tenders," he said.

In a statement on Monday, Public Protector Thuli Madonsela said her office "could not determine" whether tenders awarded to SGL by three municipalities "complied with the relevant procurement legislation and other prescripts, due to poor procurement record keeping by the said municipalities".

:erm:

It found "no verifiable information or evidence" that the tenders were awarded to the company through "improper influence", "comradeship", "nepotism", "political affiliations", or "any other impropriety".

The completed projects were also found to be "generally of an acceptable quality and standard".

Except for that little incident with the bridge collapsing :wtf:

Also what happened to that supposed SARS investigation ?

O....MY.....WORD...I'M.....SO....SURPRISED....

Did not expect this at all

Seems we're getting to a ..... see no evil .... do no evil (in public eye) .... cover up for comrades...

So all the evidence was destroyed. Hopefully all the municipality officers responsible will be dismissed. Once again we can see how this ANC virus has infected SA.

So how the **** is that "Clean" ???

I am sorry...i do not believe or trust any probe done into the ANC...cause the people that do the probe is bloody ANC!!!! WTF! The public protector should be renamed to ANC protector. The only way I would believe this is if it was maybe done by a international org based in the UK or US that did the probe.

I wonder how much money has passed under the table to keep the companies, that did not get the opportunity to tender for any of these contracts, quiet.
The same companies that "leaked" the existence of these irregularities in the first place.
It's a real pity that they can be bought like that, I would love them to stand up and say, for example: Our tender would have been 1bn for that 2bn road project.

This :

does not even almost equate to this:

:(

So all this tells you is that you can do as you like just make sure that the record keeping is really shoddy then you should be fine :(

I am waiting for SARS to finish their probe.

Once they are done probing him, THEN he will know the meaning of the word probe ;)

I have very little confidence in these guys actually being found guilty of anything anymore. Only time will tell I suppose.

Funny how probing the fat little man took so long, yet Nyanda's was 'cleared of wrong-doing' so quickly.
Methinks the public protector is just another ANC crony & isn't actually protecting the public like it's supposed to.

I thought Malema was "unofficially" not part of said company, so why would the ANCYL even make a statement?

Hey. This our next prez you guys are talking about..
Teflon man the second. :p

I wish Malema was probed in a jail cell. It would be a lot more painful and much more appropriate.

Another thing for under the carpet.

That carpet now resembles a camel's hump with the amount of dirt under it. No way to deflate it I guess so what other option is there but to ensure that no more grubby stuff ever makes it under there.

I think we'll be hearing a lot more from the podgy little prat now that he's been declared squeeky clean. Loved the Teflon Man comment. Thing is, even Teflon wears out eventually.

Afriforum Youth to probe Malema tenders

Afriforum Youth will be launching an independent investigation into the municipal tenders awarded to the company that ANCYL president Julius Malema was involved in, the organisation said on Tuesday.

"Malema plays a senior role in the ruling party and that the awarding of municipal tenders to a company of which he is a director, is unethical, irrespective of what the Public Protector or any law may say in this regard", spokesman Ernst Roets said.

Waste of time, this is such an obvious blundering cover up that proves no rules apply to those eating at the trough.

OINK!?
