If you read the malema news you would have seen him calling Cronin a white messiah a couple of weeks ago when Cronin was dismissive about the nationalisation of mines and that he was saying something about not following the white messiah.

Iafrica... Without Europe and the "West" Africa is screwed anyway. More than half of African countries have asked for "White" Western countries to help them out of their self inflicted economic messes. I don't see any European countries asking Africa for help. Africa needs Europe otherwise all you deluded revolutionaries would be headed back to a kraal with no electricity or running water. You want the Western way of life and luxury but don't want to work for the rewards. An attitude of entitlement like the masses have is what is keeping South Africa down.

I'll be right here in the Western Cape as well where my forefathers were long before anyway Xhosa or Zulu rocked up here. Not that it matters to me but seems be to be so important to the misinformed halfwit SA majority like our comrade Iafrica.

Do you know the longest running form of govenment is the USA's government over 200 years non stop. I don't think any other country has had a similar run in recorded history.

I think the day I realised I was an African, being a White Man myself, was the day I wanted to go back to Europe, my "motherland", and they told me to F*$k off without a passport/greencard :)

So, if im in Africa right now, but I dont want to be in Africa, because im def not African, nor do I want to be African, yet I dont have any ancestral rights to claim ANY overseas citizenship, what does that make me then Mr smarty pants?

Althing still held its sessions at Þingvellir until 1799, when it was discontinued for some decades. It was restored in 1844 and moved to Reykjavík, where it has resided ever since.

930 AD -> 1799 is a leeetle longer than 200 yrs.

I'm not really interested in looking it up, and I'm still not sure of the relevance of the derail, but I'm sure there're a couple of European democracies that have been running for longer than the US govt.

"Modern incantation"... besides, if you review the entire history of the Althing, then the longest the Althing served as a functioning form of government was 332 years. However, since that was almost 800 years ago I reckon its safe to ignore it. The Pope, the Roman Emperors, the Russian Tsars all lasted longer than that, in fact the English monarchy is still on the throne 1200 years later! But again, its not in reference to a modern country, so again we can again ignore that as examples too.
